Let’s go! The event, will feature holiday entertainers, Pittsburgh personalities, stationary floats and Santa Claus. Each parade attraction will be stationed at four stops in the parking lot under sponsored tents. Santa is scheduled to appear before being whisked away to his wonderland inside The Block Northway where there will be a vendor village to provide opportunities to shop and enter drawings to win prizes. Q92.9-FM’s Erika Jay and Monica will be roving reporters, while YaJagoff!’s Rachael Rennebeck and John Chamberlin will provide colorful play-by-play from the back of a pick-up truck. The event will be live-streamed on YaJagoff! and the Q92 Facebook pages. Some other parade options:- The Dormont Fire Department Holiday Parade and Home for the Holidays event will occur on Dec. 3, with the parade along West Liberty Avenue starting at 10 a.m. After that, an outdoor holiday event will be held on Potomac Avenue featuring activities, music, an artisan fair and more.
- The Steel Valley Christmas Parade will be held Dec. 3 at noon and travel along East Eighth Avenue through West Homestead, Homestead and Munhall.
- The Cranberry Holiday Village Mart will occur Dec. 3 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the municipal center. On hand will be various vendors, food trucks, kids’ activities, holiday ambiance, and more. Organized by the North Pittsburgh Regional Chamber, this event encourages visitors to shop local and support small businesses this holiday season.
- The Moon Lights Holiday Festival takes place Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at Moon Park. The event will feature performances by local dancers and musicians, a handbell choir, food trucks, craft vendors and a live caricature artist. Santa will ride into the park atop a firetruck at 5:30pm and light the Moon Park Christmas tree at the Rotary Pavilion. Following the lighting of the tree, Santa will be available for photos and visits with children and families.
- The Robinson Township Light the Night at Clever Park will be held Dec. 2 and include Holiday Lights and a fireworks show. Santa will arrive via VIP escort from the Forest Grove Fire Company on a decorated fire truck at 6:30 p.m.
- There will be a special mailbox in the park’s gazebo in which children can mail their letters to Mr. Claus.
- The Peters Township Holiday Kickoff occurs Dec. 4 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the township community center. Enjoy free activities such as crafts, games, refreshments, letters to Santa and a visit from Mr. Kringle himself.
