SECTION 375 OF IPC
It refers to a sexual intercourse with a woman against her will, without her consent, by coercion, misrepresentation or fraud or at a time when she has been intoxicated or duped, or is of unsound mental health and in any case if she is under 18 years of age.
PUNISHMENT
Whosoever commits a rape shall be punished with imprisonment of not less than 7 years but it may be extend for imprisonment for life and also be liable for fine.
EXCEPTIONS TO SECTION 375
Sexual intercourse by a man with his own wife does n”t amount to rape .
CONSENT UNDER SECTION 375
The consent should be voluntarily communication clear .marital rape should be considered as an exception to the rule and it is not a crime under IPC.
