Marriage, the most important and sacred ceremony in our Indian Culture. But, how can we guide this ceremony…!! As India is a Hindu dominated country, a special provision was enacted and implemented for our guidance. But, nothing in it is in contravention to any provisions in other or Special Marriages Act.
So, the law we are talking about is Hindu Marriage Act 1955. Following are the majors/key provisions of the law:
Section 1 of the Hindu Marriage Act defines to whom this law is applicable. According to this, this law applies to a person who is Hindu by religion and also to the people of Buddhist, Jains, or Sikh religion. It applies to people living in such territories, who are not Christians, Muslims etc….
