Both men and women make less hormones after they turn 30. For example, the hormone oestrogen, which controls a woman’s period, drops a lot after she turns 35.

It could cause you to gain weight and have less libido than usual. In the same way, men’s testosterone levels drop as they get older. Again, this could lead to bad changes, such as gaining weight, especially around the middle.

As we get older, we lose muscle, which makes it harder to gain weight. Also, some common life events, like pregnancy, can cause people to gain weight before or after giving birth.

As soon as a sedentary lifestyle takes over, the natural muscle loss gets worse. Unfortunately, this makes your constant changes in body and mind even worse.

The unavoidable effect? Gaining weight in your early 30s, which only gets worse as time goes on.
