I don’t use Photoshop but do enjoy using the native camera apps with my 7D and few L lenses. I don’t see why the need to upgrade, but as I am a happy Lightroom user, I have upgraded. I prefer the interface of CS6 and am happy with some of the updates. Seeing the panorama improvements, I am hopeful this will replace the admin when selecting images in the future.

I found this review really helpful. I have used Lightroom since version 1, and have developed a true appreciation for the program. I am happily using version 5 and I plan on purchasing version 5.1 in the near future. I’m glad I went the App Store route though, I didn’t hear of Lightroom on other online sites. My only frustration with the program, and I’m told this is typically an issue when there are not enough testers, is that the export to web works almost too well. Sometimes I will do a few edits, close download, then realize I don’t need the original image. In those cases, I am loath to upload the original image to the web for anyone to edit. I wish I could have a way to export to web that would automatically place the original in an intermediate image that a web host would call a watermark. As it stands, I have to create a new image, delete the previous, then save the original to a new location and delete the intermediate image. There are some other issues too, as I can’t tag images sequentially in the preview window, the rotate/crop options act differently then in Photoshop, and maybe I didn’t index the library properly, but these are minor issues. I am not a professional photographer, but I do find the program to be extremely user friendly and an excellent companion to Photoshop. I do most of my work in the web browser, so this is really nice, although when the program acts strangely, it can be a real pain to attempt to get an image onto the web from within Adobe’s product.
